Second Half Updates: Sweden vs South Korea
49 mins: Sweden start the second half on the front foot and force a fine chance early in proceedings. A quickly-take free-kick in the middle of the pitch sends Toivonen clear down the right, he hooks the ball back into the middle where possession is then played into the path of Emil Forsberg. The Leipzig man takes a touch to cut back inside before sending a curling shot high over Cho Hyun-Woo’s goal.
52 mins: A nasty incident in the middle of the pitch as Sebastian Larsson’s brings his full weight and studs down on the calf of Koo Ja-Cheol. It looks bad in real time, worse in slow motion but the referee deems it an unfortunate accident and VAR see no reason to get involved.
55 mins: A needless yellow card for Hwang Hee-Chan, who pushes over Ludwig Augustinsson when he was going nowhere on the left touchline. It has presented Sweden with the chance to send a dangerous free-kick into the South Korean box.
56 mins: And they nearly made South Korea pay! Larsson’s free-kick is perfect for the arriving Toivonen, and this time the striker gets his effort right. Heading the ball down at the near post, Sweden looked to have grabbed the lead but there was Cho again to push the ball away.
61 mins: South Korean players are down all over the pitch and the upshot is a yellow card for Viktor Claesson. Lee Yong was already prostrate following a coming together with Augustinsson before Claesson dived Hwang Hee-Chan.
