Have you ever wondered how Ronaldo tends to score in every match, heck the guy has more goals than Messi this season despite playing seven match less.
This video quite easily demonstrates Ronaldo godly off-the-ball movement skills.

In a way, that was a natural evolution of his stepover: he naturally moves into blind spots of defenders, and with fake movements shifts into deadly position, unmarked, where with a single pass he could cause maximum havoc.
There are three main types of off-the-ball attacking movements: 1) beating the offside trap, 2) dragging the defense out of shape, and 3) “ghosting” through the defense undetected into dangerous positions.
The first type of off-the-ball movement, beating the offside trap, is a skill every great striker must master if he is to have a scoring chance anywhere near the penalty box. Every great striker can consistently beat the offside trap: Suarez, Lewandowski, Aguero, et cetera. That’s the basic off-the-ball movement.
The second type of off-the-ball movement, dragging the defense out of shape to create space for your team, is a teamwork skill most strikers must also master - even those who do not bear their team’s main goal scoring burden like Karim Benzema.
The third type is far more rare, and is generally considered the dark art of top top class strikers like Cristiano Ronaldo: the ability to essentially “ghost” through three or four defenders while they are, for a tiny fraction of second, looking at the ball instead of him.
You see, humans generally have a quite limited field of vision, which is about 120 degrees - the remaining 240 degrees are called the blind spot. A defender has two jobs: watch the man he is supposed to mark, while simultaneously being aware of where the ball is. And no, you can’t mark a person without knowing where the ball is. So a top-class defender would take a split second to look at his marked man, try to predict his movements, and then look at the ball to shield it and cut it off from his man.
This is where the genius of CR7 comes in: he fakes his movements precisely the moment the defender(s) look at him, then moves into their blind spot when they look away, essentially creating space for himself, since that defender is still busy marking a person who is no longer there.
What made CR7 a genius is the fact that he could do all that within a fraction of a second, against multiple world-class defenders no less, and consistently at a very high level every week.
It wasn’t because the defense of Juve, Bayern, Atletico suddenly decided to become incompetent against him; it was his best-of-this-world ability to confuse their defense without the ball
that turned them into an incompetent mess.
