An explosion has struck a stadium in the city of Bulawayo where Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa was addressing an election campaign rally.
It was reported that the 75-year-old president was not hurt and evacuated from the White City stadium, where he had been speaking to thousands of supporters in advance of next month's vote.
Investigations are under way and more details will be given to the public.

The dude should know his life isn't safe. He used to be Mugabe's vice before both had a fallout. Then he toppled Mugabe with the help of top military chiefs and started a new government that is no different from Mugabe's.

He and his army chiefs-turned-politicians need to organize fresh elections. They should not be allowed to contest and neither should anyone who held any military or political position while they or Mugabe was in power.

Anything short of that is a sham.

Any issues Mugabe is facing were selfinflicted...

1.You allow your wife to move against a vice president who was not only one of your main guys in the millitary, but STILL has connections to the high ranking Army rank and file...of COURSE...selfpreservation strikes.

2.40 years in power, and your economy is still dependent on exporting stuff whose prices you cannot control. Meanwhile....China, Japan and Korea woke up ages ago...and based their economies on innovation and industries. As one African king some 300 years ago said...he who makes the gunpowder wins the war. (And Zim has or had a very good education system).

3.Is Mugabe the only one? Must we be dependent on one leader.?
