Mohamed Salah is reportedly contemplating whether or not to quit international football after being publicly blasted for posing with Ramzan Kadyrov for a photo.

The Chechnya leader is a controversial figure at home and abroad, having been accused of human rights abuses and the murder of homosexuals in his homeland.

Human rights groups hit out at the Egyptian FA, Fifa and Salah for the picture opportunity and the Liverpool star feels he has been used as a political pawn, in line with the Independent.

There was a massive fall-out ever since the photos emerged and Kadyrov was accused of using Salah as a propaganda stunt.

‘Mohamed Salah is an honorary citizen of the Chechen Republic. That’s right,’ Kadyrov mentioned.
