Iranian fans have turned to the dark arts to try and disrupt Cristiano Ronaldo before they play Portugal in the World Cup tonight.
A group of supporters gathered outside the Real Madrid superstar’s hotel early this morning and tried to keep him awake by singing, blowing trumpets and playing drums.
Iran play Portugal in a crucial group B clash in Saransk, Russia, and their fans probably felt they needed an edge.


Footage showed them continueing to make noise even after Ronaldo made a plea for them to be quiet.
Their behaviour was very unsportsmanlike but it showed how much they feared the 33-year-old marksman and the rest of his team mates.
But Ronaldo is a cool customer so is unlikely to be put off by the gamesmanship.

If anything the sneaky tactic will make Ronaldo angrier and more likely to add to the four goals he has scored so far in the World Cup.
The final group match kicks off at 7pm tonight at the Mordovia Arena.
