It is wise answer to minded people not fish brain people. PDP use killing as politics that is why this list was released in order to know who are the government of murderers between then and now. But due high rate of hypocrisy people tall in different direction. Before coming of this government killing occur every where in Nigeria Mosques, Churches, Cities, Towns and Villages but due to more efforts of this government the violence restricted in only two to three states.

It’s a shame what these two political party has turned this nation into, playing cheap politics with the death of citizens.

The major problem we have now is that who are we to vote in now Because these political parties are damn useless

The problems of Nigeria is like a hydra headed monster. The government of the day is doing all they can . surely no government would want a bad record on their hands as that would negatively affect their appraisal.

Common sense should let you know that they are doing all they can. Its quite obvious that the present day killings is a carefully orchestrated scheme by some quarters in order to score cheap political points.

Someone is surely behind the scenes pulling the strings of this current mayhem and playing deadly politics with the likes of you and me and those who have died. It reminded me of the comment by the late Azazi regarding the origin of boko haram when he said PDP is boko haram and Boko haram is PDP . that statement was profound d coming form the then national security adviser and a few weeks after that proclamation he was "killed".

It should show you how reckless bloodshed has been politicized in Nigeria and how it began. Today we cannot really say the so called herdsmen have not been infiltrated by the same boko haram or those sympathetic to them because really if you look at it, some of these killings are entirely senseless and just carried out to further bring confusion and discredit to this present administration.

Why would this administration be in support of killings in the areas in the north where they expect more votes?

This is simply a divide and conquer tactic at play here by some persons behind the scenes.

I have said it time and time again.
The biggest problem of our country is with the youths, males and females alike.

Look at them!

Every person commenting on this thread is equally playing politics with the dead.

Even though Mr Adesina has clearly explained himself these fools are falling over themselves to make cheap political statements.

Why this cheap hypocrisy from this PDP?

What is the meaning of flags at half mast?

What is the meaning of always playing politics with deaths when they didn't fare better when they were in power?

PDP should let other parties or pressure groups talk and let them continue to bury their heads in shame forever.

Well they know how gullible and fickle Nigerian youths are so they can feel free to continue pulling the dumbness cards of these Nigerians on nairaland.

Question:

In 16 years of power when did the PDP ever fly flags at half mast despite the death of over 20,000 Nigerians.

If you cannot answer this question then whatever politics you are playing with dead Nigerians will visit your own very family.
I have been reading dumb comments until I stumbled on yours. You really made sense brother, the man clearly stated, that wanton killings has been going on before this administration. PDP should be ashamed of themselves after reducing this country to nadir.

THE Presidency has accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of shedding crocodile tears by declaring a mourning period for people killed in Plateau state, saying that even though more people were killed under the former ruling party, it never declared a mourning period.

A statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Thursday, gave a list of killings under PDP which it said the party never mourned.

The statement said that it was sad and unfortunate killings in Plateau state over the weekend have been turned to an opportunity to once again play irresponsible politics, particularly by the PDP.

The PDP had on Wednesday declared seven days of mourning during which it said flags in its office will fly at half mast.

The presidency stated: “These are dolorous times that call for deep introspection on how cheap human lives have become, and the proffering of actionable ideas on how to get out of the bind. But the PDP would rather dance on the graves of the dead, playing cheap, infantile politics.

“The comatose and prostrate party is declaring seven days of mourning, during which flags in its offices would be flown at half-mast nationwide. But unknown to the party, those flags had been forcefully lowered since its 2015 loss at the polls and may remain so for a long time to come, because Nigerians are politically discerning, and cannot be hoodwinked by cheap antics.

“A quick checklist of some savage and brutal killings in Nigeria during PDP rule, between 1999 and 2015, for which no national mourning was declared:

“November 20, 1999. Odi, in Bayelsa State, was invaded on orders of a PDP President. About 2,500 people killed. No national mourning.

“Between February and May 2000, about 5,000 people were killed during riots over Sharia law in different parts of the North. No national mourning.

“In 2001, hundreds of people, including the old, infirm, women and children were killed in Zaki Biam. No crocodile tears.

“Between September 7-12, 2001, Jos, Plateau State, erupted in internecine killings. Between 500 and 1,000 people were killed. Flags were not flown at half mast.

“In February 2004, at least 975 people were killed in Yelwa-Shendam, Plateau State. No mourning by the then ruling PDP.

“Between November 28 and 29, 2008, Jos was in flames again, with 381 deaths. No mourning.

“In 2010, 992 people killed in Jos. Mum was the word.

“In 2014 alone, according to Global Terrorism Index, at least 1,229 people were killed in the Middle Belt. No mourning.

“Boko Haram killings in PDP years were over 10,000. PDP flags were still fluttering proudly in the sky.

“Those who take pleasure in twisting statements from the Presidency may claim we are saying that many more people were killed under PDP than under President Muhammadu Buhari. It would be unconscionable to do so. The intendment of this statement is to show that wanton killings had been with us for awhile; this government is working towards enduring solutions; and should be given the opportunity to do so.

“Even a single soul is precious, and no man should take a life, which he cannot create. But when tragic situations as had happened in Plateau State occur, such should never be used to play crude politics. Those who are wont to do so should have change of hearts, or lose their very humanity.”

Adesina never supported the killings, neither did he do a comparison per se.

He was simply showing the hypocrisy of PDP as they began to play politics with these present killings when they never showed any sign of compassion or pain during their era.

Suddenly they have now developed compassion out of nowhere.

Killings in Nigeria have always been there even from the days before obasanjo and it simply shows the levels intolerance has gotten to in our society. We no longer identify as one Nigeria but as different people or locations in Nigeria. We play ethnic politics and do not share or develop national ideals. We do not even play locational politics but strictly ethnic inclined. That is not democracy.

Those of you who cannot see beyond your ethnic hatred towards this administration are also a major part of the problems this nation has which is why a lot of you instead of critically considering what adesina is passing across you rather see from your bigoted lenses and nothing more.

By the way I am Yoruba and do not play ethnic games. If you have good to offer regardless of where you are from in Nigeria then offer it. I think its high time we all stopped this ethnicity nonsense and began living as one people and one nation. We have had enough bigotery as a nation to last many centuries.

We all need to consciously stop the collective rape of our compassion and strength in diversity we always employ on social media. Its sad to see .
