As at this moment, driving around all these trailers posses a lot of threats to our lives and properties. Our best bet is to avoid them as much as we can, and when we can’t avoid them, we should adhere to these tips.

It is good you know that accidents are inevitable but can as well be reduced to the barest minimum. What you read in this post isn’t a guaranty accidents won’t occur but it serves to put you on a safer side of the equation.

Stick to these tips while driving around trucks.

1. Don’t drink and drive, don’t drive when fatigued:
Before hitting the road, try as much as you can to be sane enough to drive. Don’t drive under the influence of alcohol or when fatigued.

2. Be cautious and calculative while driving:
As weird as it may sound, you should be calculative at all time. Cautiousness is the key. Know when to make a life saving turn and when to match the life saving brakes. A very calculative and cautious driving can be regarded to be the best form of driving.

Some trucks are about 54 meters long and up to 2.5 meters wide. Before overtaking them, ensure you have plenty of time to get ahead of them safely. Some of these trucks sway from side to side when they in motion in a bid to avoid potholes, be sure you give the truck driver proper announcement of your overtaking.

3. Give trucks extra space:
This space is when around them. Don’t be too close to them especially if it’s uphill. Trailers take a lot of space it turn. Don’t try to squeeze in yourself into a tight corner just to make it out on time.

4. Don’t tailgate a truck:
Tailgating a truck is another no go are a area when driving around trucks. This will not just only put you to be on the blindspot of the truck driver, you can easily run under the truck if anything should go bad.
