A Cairo Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced an adviser to ousted Egyptian president Mohammad Morsi and 14 others to life in prison for plotting attacks on security forces and vital sites.

Abdallah Shehata, an economic adviser to Morsi, and the other defendants were convicted of plotting attacks on security forces and vital sites, including power stations, in order to spread chaos in Egypt after the army’s 2013 overthrow of Morsi following street protests against his rule, state media reported.

Eight of the defendants were tried in absentia, state-run newspaper al-Ahram reported.

The rulings were issued by the Court, which also sentenced seven additional people to jail terms ranging from 10 to 15 years in the same case, according to the report.

All the accused were also convicted of belonging to Morsi’s now-outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.
The verdicts can be appealed.

Thousands of the Islamist group’s members and followers have been rounded up and tried in different cases since the overthrow of Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically elected but divisive president.

Mohammed Mursi! I remember that daft illiterate who went all the way to enjoy the masses vote after Mubarak left power.

Only for him to get to the seat and become parochial. Trying to enforce sharia on all Egyptians disregarding Christian minority. He started emparting fanaticism on his follower and was grooming terrorists until God became annoyed.

I don't know what is really wrong with most Muslim leaders with tolerance? Look our own presidiot who is bent at seizing peoples land to promote Fulani private business. Do the owners of these cows even pay tax?

Muslims should learn tolerance of divers faith and believe. Every act of terrorism starts with you seeing others as not being perfect in their belief.

God never made one religion. His core purpose of bringing religion is for love , peace and Justice.

Anything outside this is a mockery to Gods name.
I really love Christians for their attitude of tolerance. Look at Egypt with 10% Christians going to world cup with no single Christian.

Then compare it to France team and you know why some teams get easily eliminated.
