Just like any other unforeseen circumstances, so is sickness and accident. corps members are subjected to change in weather, water ion dissolved content, society, etc. which makes them prone to sicknesses, diseases in there new enviroment and accident during there service year. The only Provision for corps member is to piled up there medical bill to process refound if the hospital is Millitary or government owned. The problem is 19800 is the monthly allowance, spending it sickness before refound (thats if it's enough or just paid) might make them stranded for the rest of the month. If money is not available might deny them treatment. Why not free medical treatment in form of health insurrance scheme for corps member. Only prisoner wear uniform with hardlabour without benefit. This is not with entitlement mentallity but because health is wealth #save_corps_member

This isn't feasible considering the millions of graduates that leave our various tertiary institutions across the country every year, that's why you're given the option of redeployment back to your state of residence if you can prove that you're sick or on any kind of medication. The government didn't make such provision available for the scheme, maybe due to its short period (11 months).

So if you feel you can't cope medically in your PPA due to its archaic neighborhood like you stated in your post, get yourself a medical report from any government hospital and apply for redeployment on health grounds. You can't expect to be placed on health insurance for a scheme that isn't even up to a year. Corpers will abuse the insurance previleges and begin to demand money for even cough and cold. Some will even fake illness just to collect cash from the government.
