State police is good but it will have negative effects in a country like Nigeria. It will just be like a tool/weapon in the hand of oppressor.

Not all the States are capable to manage police and if I may ask who will be responsible for police salaries?

The states will be responsible for police they establish. The ones that cant establish police force will rely on federal police as the senate said. They can use that secruity vote money to fund their police along with taxes payers money.

Instead of state police, lets have regional police.

All the six regions should have their own police and watch over regional boundaries.

You mean it is currently a tool on the hand of the Federal government as it were? I can now understand your apprehensions.
