FOUR-YEAR-OLD CHILD DISAPPEARS DURING SERVICE AT CHRIST EMBASSY
The family members of a four-year-old, Elo Ogidi, are in distress over the disappearance of the child during a church service at the headquarters of the Christ Embassy in Oregun, Lagos.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Elo was with the maid during the church’s children thanksgiving service last Sunday when she went missing.

The Personal Assistant to Elo’s father, Solo Cosmos, told our correspondent on the telephone that Elo’s parents were too distraught to speak.

MOB KILLS MAN FOR SLAUGHTERING MOTHER IN-LAW
A man, aged 42 and identified as Tambaya Manu, was yesterday killed by a mob after allegedly killing his mother-in-law, Aisah Barto , aged 40, in Kebbi State.

The incident occurred at Bangu village in Mahuta town of Fakai Local Government Area of the state.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen that Manu had allegedly committed the offence after his in-laws refused him access to his wife, Aisha, who was with her parents after he had divorced her a month ago.

ABIA STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVES TAX WAIVERS FOR INVESTORS
To encourage willing investors in the State, Abia State government has approved categories of tax waivers to of which will, in addition, check the reported illegal and multiple taxation and levies that were being complained against in the state.

The state Information Commissioner Chief John Okiyi Kalu stated that the new policy will apply 100% on all levies and dues (excluding user fees and PAYE) for new investment in education that will not be less than N500 million in verified value and has a workforce of not less than 100 persons.

THREE PEOPLE KILLED ONDO EX-DEPUTY GOVERNOR’S DAUGHTER – POLICE
The Ondo State Police Command has said two men joined Alao Adeyemi to allegedly kill Khadijat, the daughter of a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo.

Adeyemi, Khadijat’s boyfriend, was arrested by the police on Sunday following the discovery of the remains of the deputy governor’s daughter in a shallow grave in his room.

However, the police on Wednesday said two other persons that had yet to be identified were also involved in the death of the 400-level student of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko.

AKWA IBOM TO COMMISSION RICE MILL THIS WEEK
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has disclosed plans to boost rice production in the state with the coming of a 1.5 million metric tonnes of rice mill due for commissioning this week.

The investment, according to him, is to crash the price of the staple food in the state.

The Governor said this in Uyo when members of the Technical Committee on Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, led by the Chairman, Prof. Edet Udoh, presented some samples of the 50kg bags of the product to the State Executive Council just before the commencement of the monthly meeting.
