Some Facts About The Abuja Light Rail

- The project was conceived since 1977 made up of 6 Lots.
- Lot 1 has just been commissioned by President Buhari - it is a double track line covering a length of 45km
- It has 12 passenger stations

- The Idu Station is to serve as a transfer station, transferring to the national rail line

- The Idu Station would also serve as a maintenance base

- Some of the economic benefits include:

- It would accelerate National Economic Growth; It would provide a better investment climate; it would improve the living conditions of Nigerians in the Abuja metropolis; it would create more employment; it would save energy; it would provide for greater social stability; it would ease transportation in the FCT.
