This Iranian man was lashed 80 times for
drinking at a wedding when he was a
teenager - more than a decade ago
The crowd watched as the whip tore away his
flesh, leaving his body an unhealthy shade of dark
red.
Amnesty International condemned the punishment
which was carried out for a "crime" committed
when he was just 14.
Spokesman Philip Luther said: "The circumstance
of this case are absolutely shocking. No one
should be subjected to flogging.
"That a child was prosecuted for consuming
alcohol and sentenced to 80 lashes beggars
belief."
