Get on the field, run around a bit, clutch his back and signal for the medical team. Croatia was already leading. That way the blame will be on the technical crew.

Probably, if the coach is convinced that he feigned it but Croatians won't judge him too harshly. You know he has a reputation for refusing to play whenever they try to use him as a late substitute but he doesn't complain as soon as he is named on the team.
