Is Switching To UR Pistol Really ALWAYS Faster Than Reloading In Shooting Games? by LucemFerre: 9:14pm On Jul 28, 2018 |
I'm not talking about survival games that you have to sell a kidney for ammos. In Call of Duty 4: Modern warfare, Gaz said to Soap, “Remember, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading." Uhmm… I think it’s more complicated than that. LMG's and guns with the capability of accomodating drum mags carry 80-100 rounds, P90's carry upto 50 rounds, Extended mags for other rifles carry 45 rounds and quick reload twin mags carry 30 each but, with less than a second reload time. Now, with all that available weapons in a game how in the world would one carry a pistol as a secondary weapon in the first place? Let’s even say one carries a pistol as a secondary weapon. How would one allow oneself to ever run out of ammo to need to switch to a pistol? I mean, in a situation that would require you to respond that quickly you’d probably be dead before you either switch or reload. My verdict, The quote is wrong, no offence to Cpt. Price and his team. Switching to pistols can be faster if one is sure that the enemy(ies) would die before the pistol run out of ammo but, we mostly don’t know, do we? And if the enemies are many, I can't even begin to tell you just how useless and inefficient it is to switch to a pistol. Best option, take cover and reload. Pistols carry 15 rounds max. Personally, I do not like pistols (well except in survival games). I mostly carry the highest capacity automatic rifles (I avoid LMG's in some cases) and a sniper rifle. So, on the long run, switching to pistol is not only not always faster than reloading but, not faster at all than reloading. At least with my style of play. But, What do you think? Which is faster for you?

Switching to pistol is actually faster than reloading... I've actually tried that in cod... But it's better to take cover and reload 2 Likes |

I never believed Cpt. Price anyway. I usually carry a sniper rifle and machine guns. Currently playing COD: Advanced Warfare - Great game But the size of games is becoming too much been trying to download Far Cry 5 (its over 44gb) |

Controller360: Yea, I guess switching to pistol is a little faster but, 9 times out of 10 not the best option. |

sentix: Advanced warfare was a great game, I never really understood the hate for it |

For a game like titanfall 2, your secondary weapon comes very handy. 1 Like |

switching to pistol is faster and better because 1. when you shoot an infidel on the leg and he is not dead yet, he would spray you with his AK47, it is faster and better to switch to pistol and finish him off than reloading 2. there are many instances in COD where your other mates are caught unaware with their rifles dragging with the insurgents because they sneak up on them and due to size of rifles you can easily grab it with the hand hand gun are easy to reload than rifle especially those rifles with 300bullet cases. COD how I miss you so much |

Switching is more faster, but i prefer reloading. But it depends on the situation sha, for instance: if im surrounded by many enemies, i prefer to switch weapon because reloading might get me killed. |
Re: Is Switching To UR Pistol Really ALWAYS Faster Than Reloading In Shooting Games? by LucemFerre: 11:43am On Jul 29, 2018 |
GameGod: Haha... If you're surrounded by "many" enemies, switching wouldn't save you either. Pistol has 15 in clip at Max mostly 12 and you might not be good enough to kill each enemy with one shot. On the long run, you're still gonna have to reload and they'll be no side arm to switch to(shrug) |

nurey: 1. Never let your clip almost empty it's a bad practice. Reload after every break. And Yea, LMG's are for special cases of taking care of numerous enemies. Like in BlOps when you're supposed to go downhill with Hudson in the midst of those mad Vietnamese... |

LucemFerre: easier said than done. COD 4 at the plane crash where the president was kidnapped, it isn't easy not spraying anyhow and no way your bullet would finish, also not expending magazine is a waste of precious bullet off course you can say that but when you play COD in veteran mode, baba you will get frustrated managing bullet that level is called sharpshooter paradise. I game on PC though |

Take cover and reload. I agree. I've never switched weapons as a means to 'reload'. I impulsively reload after killing a batch of enemies, or before entering a new room, but sometimes in the thick of it, bullets run out. In those cases, I take cover, and reload. Pistols are useless in most shooters as far as I'm concerned. Well, except Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, where the stealth benefits were massive. And GTA V, where I use them to headshot. And Perfect Dark, where they were pretty freaking powerful (Magnums though). Okay, maybe not so useless. |

Lol. U noobs are talking about Singleplayer campaigns. U dont play online modes. If u did, u'd know switching to ur sidearm is critical instead of trying to reload. Its only against the AI u can hide and reload. Try reloading an M240 or an M60 while under fire when u're being pushed by the enemy team na. Before u finish reloading, the enemy team would rush you and kill you. Even worse, they'd lob a grenade in ur face. Guns like the Scar-H, Mtar and the Bulldog hold as little as 20 to 25 rounds per mag and u're better off switching to ur sidearm. And reloading ur sidearm is even faster than switching back to/reloading ur main gun!! |

GameGod:Na so. Even the pros sef no get 70% probability of hitting a headshot.... What sensitivity do u play with?? For me its 800dpi on my mouse and low in-game sensitivity |

Re: Is Switching To UR Pistol Really ALWAYS Faster Than Reloading In Shooting Games? by GameGod(m): 4:12pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
Lana1:It depends on the sensitivity in game as well as the preference. My preference when I play Counter Strike : Global Offensive is to set my sensitivity to the lowest, which is 1, and make my DPI roughly 2000 to 2100. I play Overwatch on 1000 DPI and about 5.55 sensitivity. I can do a 180 fairly well, but it isn’t too sensitive where I can’t consistently hit headshots. |
Re: Is Switching To UR Pistol Really ALWAYS Faster Than Reloading In Shooting Games? by Lana1(m): 4:59pm On Jul 29, 2018 |
GameGod:Nah. 2000 dpi is too much for me. Low sensitivity is optimal for the best accuracy. I need to be able to switch targets with small wrist movements Haven't played cs: go in ages tho but drop ur steam ID make i add you.... |

LucemFerre:Soon my brother, soon. My screen recorder, records video at 1080p, 11 mins of gameplay recording will be 800mb. I could compress it and stuff, but I don't have video compressing application. |
