The Shell Nigeria Gas limited has apologized to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the people of the State that they have not really done enough for the host State as expectations are high for the company to fulfil.

The company opened up to that fact when the senior management team called on the Governor in Government House, Umuahia. The management team led by its Managing Director, Mr. Ed Ubong commended the Governor for the good relationship the company enjoys in the State. According to him, the company has been consistent in given scholarship to Abia post graduate and under graduate students.

Mr. Ed Ubong used the opportunity to announce that the company plans to construct a ten kilometre gas line in Osisoma and another one that would lead to Ariaria International Market. He also requested the Governor to come and inspect the site.

Responding, the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu assured the SHELL company of the sustained relationship with it and urged the company to ensure it contributes greatly to the economy of the State.

Governor Ikpeazu stressed the need for the company to register its presence in the State by ensuring it has an office in Umuahia. According to him, it is economically wrong for SHELL company to be importing its staff from neighbouring State on daily bases and said it would be proper, if the staff would be resident in Abia, where they work.

He disclosed his interest to partner with them for the development of Enyimba Economic City, saying that Abia needs them to support its developmental plan.

Nice one!

Not just Abia, the entire Niger Delta.

Steps to take:

1. Endure that 85% of your professional and contract staff are strictly from the NDDC states.

2. Any vacuum in 1 should be filled by border states.

3. Relocate all HEAD OFFFICES to the Niger Delta

4. All foreign/local scholarships should be strictly for NDDC states and their neighbours

5. Review the deal with the Government of Nigeria with a view to return 90% of all JV sales to the NDDC states.

Peace will follow.

Parasites will survive anyhow.
