JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing high level extensive technical support to the Chief Financial Officer and the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the Company.
Responsible for processing payroll in liaison with the Chief Financial Officer; files taxes; processes purchase orders and other miscellaneous tasks related to accounting.
Conducts general accounting operations and prepares periodic accounting reports. Assists with budget preparation as well as systems development and improvement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists the CFO in preparation of accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department;
Prepares monthly payroll according to LIRS guidelines,
Processes salaries and prepares pay slips;
Works closely with the HR and Admin Coordinator to obtain accounting processes and procedures;
Works closely with the technical team to give financial inputs in terms of technical processes;
Posts journal entries;
Liaises with the CFO to create budget for the Company;
Reviews financial records and inputs entries accurately;
Creates processes for proper accounting and record keeping;
Reconciles financial records with financial institutions when necessary;
Provides financial documentations required for the Company’s purposes;
Ensures the Company is in right standing with financial regulatory bodies;
Ensures confidentiality and proper filing of Company’s financial documents;
Provides financial advisory to management with regards to state and federal financial laws and guidelines;

Documents and ensures proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies;
Assesses risks in terms of loans the company disburses;
Conducts financial analysis;
Possesses financial knowledge of the investors and how to approach same;
Maintains cordial work relationships with banks and statutory agencies, tax authorities, external auditors, investors, borrowers and financial stakeholders;
Prepares monthly bank reconciliation statements, petty cash analysis and prepares cheques for payments;
Compiles and remits VAT, PAYE ,WHT and other statutory deductions to the appropriate government bodies;
Manages financial expenditures within the Company in liaison with the CFO and ensures that all administrative costs, staff expenses and operational costs stay within the allocated budget;
Compiles information and prepares spreadsheets to assist external auditors in internal and external statement preparations;
Posts and updates accounting transactions using accounting software;
Prepares accounts receivable and payable;
Prepares monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual returns of income and expenditure in liaison with the CFO ;
Monitors inflow and outflow of cash;
Acts as the custodian of cheque books and other related documents;
Ensures that the books of accounts are kept in accordance with the Company’s policies and accounting standards;
Liaises with auditors and ensures prompt reply to audit queries.
Assists the CFO with other accounting projects.
EDUCATION :
B.Sc. or HND from a reputable institution
Certification in ICAN or ACCA (Desirable)
