This write-up is not meant to scare anyone away from being a mother, rather, it is to give a clear understanding of a journey that still remains mostly shrouded in secrecy, due to many women’s belief of not giving out too much information. Here are a few important things to note if you are interested in becoming a mother; a. During Pregnancy, you may experience some health challenges that were previously not an issue for your like increased protein levels or high blood pressure. However, after birthing your child, it will all disappear. b. Being pregnant is not all glamour but it is not all suffering either, it is a time to bond with your child who is still growing inside you. c. Do not expect your partner/husband to be all lovey-dovey every day and every minute. There are times, they will appear absolutely unfazed by all the challenges you are going through e.g vomiting, mood swings, restlessness, bloating, weakness, aches, and pains etc. This does not mean they do not love or care for you, just try to develop a positive attitude and take everything easy. Expectations are not always good. The fact that something is expected of someone, does not always mean they will deliver. It is better to never expect and be pleasantly surprised than to expect and be disappointed. |
