A horrific accident which happened few hours ago in Rivers state, has left many passengers dead. The accident occurred after a passenger bus collided with a truck just after Choba bridge near the University of Port-Harcourt, in the state capital.

According to eye witness account, the passenger bus was overtaking the flatbed truck when the accident occurred. The impact caused flames that engulfed the bus charring the occupants.

The actual number of causalities as at the time of filing this report is yet to be determined.

The fatal accident has caused a huge traffic gridlock in the area as passersby and officials arrived the scene to for rescue and evacuation.
