To do that, you'll need to follow these steps:
- Apply to INEC not later than 30 days before the election.

- Write an "Application for transfer" to the Resident Electoral Commissioner through the Electoral Officer of your Local Government Area/Council (your present location where you want to be transferred to).

Please note: You must attach your original voter’s card to the application if it is Inter-State Transfer. For detailed guide on transfer of registered voters, you can contact any of the phone numbers on INEC Official website.

The application process will take a maximum of seven (7) days.

The Electoral Officer will contact you once the transfer process is completed for collection of your new voter’s card.

Also bear in mind that once you transfer your registration from one area/state to the other, you won't be able to vote in the former area/state because once the transfer is successfully done, your name will be deleted from the list of the former constituency.
