The Premier League kicked off for another season and all teams have now put their chequebooks away for a few months. According to estimates from transfermarkt.co.uk, Liverpool spent by far the largest amount on new players this summer.

At the other end of the scale, Tottenham didn’t spend a single penny.

Will this have any influence on the season ahead though?
