The lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor Constituency I in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Martins Amaewhule, in fulfilment of his electioneering campaign, has empowered farmers in the constituency with N200,000 each.

Speaking while presenting the cash to the farmers at the School-To-Land premises, Rumuodomanya, headquarters of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Amaewhule, who is the majority leader of the House, explained that the gesture was to partner with the School-To-Land in ensuring that the people participate and benefit from the agriculture wealth scheme.

“During our campaign, we promised and assured our people of their full participation in the agriculture wealth scheme, so it is necessary that at this point in time I look into it to enable our farmers improve on their agricultural production,” he stressed, pointing out that agriculture had become a major source of income the world over and puts food on the peoples’ table....
