Number one on this list will surprise you.
Following Barcelona's recent win against Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup in Tangiers, Morocco last night, Lionel Messi has joined the class of 'Most Decorated Football Players' with most club and country trophies.

The Barcelona captain's feat in the Super Cup saw him usurp ex-team mate Andres Iniesta who moved to Japan to join Vissel Kobe last summer. However, Messi isn't top of the list, he is just one of few players who made it to the class of 33.

Surprisingly, Brazilian and Paris Saint Germain right back Dani Alves tops the list ahead of fellow Brazilian Maxwell. Here are the top 7 names that made the list.

1. Dani Alves: The 32 year-old Brazilian veteran right back joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008 after wining the Europa League and became an integral part of Pep Guardiola's winning team that conquered Spain and Europe during their prime. He later joined Italian giants Juventus and left for Paris Saint Germain after their UCL spell hit rock-bottom.

you said he has joined the class of most decorated players with club and COUNTRY trophies... my question is what has he achieved for his country on senior level...this is d only reason CR7 will forever be rated higher than him,no matter what...messi is a very good player no doubt about it,one of d best,but when it comes to achievements,CR7 is ahead of him on a clearer margin
