CURRENT ACTIVITIES ON OUR PLANTATION

Weeding
(We invest over NGN13,000 to Weed 1 Hectare of Cassava and Corn due to Elephant Grass infestation and high Operating Expenses. Weeding may be done twice before Corn matures and up to 5 times before Cassava matures due to rainfall, fertility of the soil and quality of the weeding exercise)

Replanting
(Some earlier planted Cassava Stems died in the ground due to excessive heat and delayed rainfall while some planted Corn was eaten up by wild birds called 'Aparo' in Yoruba dialet)

Bush Clearing
(We use Manual Labour to open up new Fallow Bush at the rate of about NGN24,000 per Hectare using Cutlasses, Files and Hand Gloves. We paid them NGN1,400 per Plot, each labourer gets NGN100 daily for Feeding and we transport them to and from Farm daily)

If its a Tractorable land (Tractor Plow the same land last year, no trees) then you only need to Plow it twice NGN7,000 each that is NGN28,000.
It it is a Tractorable land with thick bush of Elephant Grass then Plow it 3 times that is NGN42,000.

If it is a thick fallow bush with trees then you need manual bush clearing. 10 diligent workers will clear the 2 Hectares using cutlasses in 2 weeks.
That will cost you about NGN30,000 per Hectare which is NGN60,000 on the 2 Hectares. (Cost between NGN50,000 and NGN60,000)
