Terrified woman gives birth on bus after hospital sent her home with contractions, as one passenger catches baby and another ties umbilical cord with a SHOELACE

Earlier today i saw a post on "GUCCI" shoe lace- lol.

Michelle Agyei was eight months pregnant when she delivered her baby on bus
The 'scared' Minnesota woman was due September 8 and thought she was going to die as inexperienced passengers rushed to help her give birth
She had experienced contractions the day before but the hospital sent her home
A Minnesota woman thought she was 'going to die' when she went into labor on a bus on her way home from work Tuesday.

Michelle Agyei, 29, safely delivered her son at eight months pregnant thanks to the help of quick-thinking passengers on the Route 87, who had no experience with birthing babies.

'I was scared,' she told Star Tribune. 'I thought I was going to die. I didn’t want to die. We were all scared. We didn’t know what to do.'
The woman, who already has a three-year-old son, was due to welcome her child September 8 and had gone to hospital the day before when she felt contractions.

But when she was sent home, Agyei went to work at a manufacturing plant as normal the following morning, with no idea her baby was on the way.

While she would have ordinarily traveled in a taxi, Agyei took public transportation just after 4.15pm as her phone battery had died and she couldn't remember numbers of any contacts.
She admits that although 'something was telling her to get off the bus and go back' she ignored her gut feeling and remained on the Rosedale to Highland park route to ride around the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus.

Despite trying to hide her pain in front of the six passengers, they noticed Agyei was distressed and alerted the driver to call 911.

Emergency services couldn't come fast enough however, as a man at the rear of the vehicle came forward to take matters into his own hands. After two minutes of contractions, the baby arrived in approximately 30 seconds, according to a passenger.

After laying her across the floor, passenger Jane Mulcahy told the Star Tribune: 'He just had to catch this baby. It was very impressive of him to do this. He was amazing.'

Meanwhile, Mulcahy used her shoelace to tie the umbilical cord and although she snapped into action without overthinking it, she admits she was panicking inside.

'I didn’t know it could happen so fast. I was freaking out. It was surreal,' she added about the event that made passengers anxious right up until the moment they heard the baby cry.

Paramedics took mother and baby to the nearby St Paul hospital and Agyei can't thank the strangers that helped out enough.

'Without them, I didn't know what to do,' she added.

Little baby Andrew arrived weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces and is resting up at Saint John’s Hospital in Maplewood with his delighted mother.

The company that operates the bus also expressed how grateful they were in a statement.

'On behalf of Schmitty & Sons, we want to extend congratulations to the mother and family,' the company said in a statement to WCCO-TV. 'We would also like to thank the passengers that were on-board the bus for helping as well as the driver, dispatch team and the first responders. We are thankful for the positive outcome and wish the best to mom and baby.'
