PRIDE: A DESTRUCTIVE CROWN

A colonel was posted to a new station at the
time there were only landlines. With his
office line, he always pretented to speak to
his boss at the headquarters. when there
was a knock on his door one day, he invited
his visitor in and lifted the reciever from the
cradle and started talking. He dropped the
line after feigning he had been talking with
his general. "that was the GOC," he informed
the visitor, and asked what he could do for
him."i came to connect your telephone,sir,"
replied the sergeant.

What a shame and humiliation? The story
above depicts a good example of pride and
what pride is capable of doing.
Pride is one of the most destructive traits
that any man can exhibit, because it dictates
your motives and drives you into making a
false and exalted picture of yourself and if
that appetite is not fed you become
frustrated.
Pride makes you to swell up like an inflated
balloon and when nobody recognise or
acknowledge that exalted self and ego you
retreat like a punctured football,frustrated
and disappointed.
Pride is an atttitude that must be renounced
and not nursed.
And do you know that pride can rob you of
some great opportunities in this life and
even drive you to ignorantly burn that
ladder that you may be climbing tomorrow?
Living in pride will guarrantee you an
eventual failure.
"pride goeth before destruction, and a
haughty spirit before a fall[Proverbs 16:18].
FACTS ON PRIDE
1. If you would build high you must remain
low.
2. Those who know God will be
humble;those who know themselves cannot
be proud.
3. Faith steps in when pride steps out.
4. You have to be great enought to be small
enought in order to be great.
5. The smaller we become,the more room
God has to work in us.
6. When you are on the high tower of
pride,there is a greater chance of falling,but
if you are down you can't fall.
7. Pride makes you to look bigger than what
you are.
8. Pride will tends to make all your potentials
to remain dormant and stagnant.
WAY OUT
pride is a trait found in almost every person
except for those who have genuine
relationship with God.
And if you are to continue living in pride,it
affect not only your life time on this earth
but your eternal destiny.
To be free from pride here are the steps

(antidote):

1. Repentance and genuine faith in christ
(asking christ to come into your life by
confessing to Him all your sins,total
surrending to him and repenting from
them).

2. Asking God to give you a new heart and
uproot the stony heart from which pride
springs from.

3. Give yourself totally to God and His service.

4. Make up your mind to be humble and
renounce pride and its element daily.
God will grant you victory as you do it in
jesus name.
