A 15-year-old maidservant (names withheld) has been reportedly impregnated in her master’s bed room by a teenage lover boy. Orient Week­end gathered that both the maid and the seventeen year old boy live in the same building where the female maid was put in the family way.

It was learnt that the maid, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) student of a private school at Nkpor was in a secret love affair with the boy, a secondary school graduate still awaiting admission into tertiary institution.

According to a source close to the incident, the boy whose identity was not revealed usually sneaked into the apartment to sleep with the maid whenever her master and his wife went off to their daily work. It was gath­ered that the illicit relationship continued undetected until it was discovered that the maid was pregnant.

“Nobody knew of this relation­ship until it was discovered that the maid had become pregnant and when she was queried on who was responsible for the preg­nancy she mentioned the boy”, the source said.

Giving details, the pregnant maid recalled that the boy usually visited her after school whenever the guardians were out and “we normally have sexual in­tercourse on his (master’s) bed”.

Asked why they had the fun on the master’s bed instead of that of her Madam, she added that, “as a woman she will know that the bed is touched but the master as a man does not have time for that”.

Orient Weekend learnt that following the discovery of the in­cident, the mother of the impreg­nated girl was sent from village in Orlu, Imo state where she unsuccessfully tried to broker a marriage with the lover-boy. It was gathered that parents of the boy had argued that their son was still too young to marry and take up responsibility of taking care of a child and wife. “They also told the girl’s mother that the boy has only a Senior Second­ary School Certificate Examina­tion (SSCE) and had no work or skill to enable him start a family. They also said that they were too poor to sponsor their marriage and support them”, the source told our correspondent.

Following their inability to settle for marriage of the two lov­ers, the maid was sent parking to her village by the master who described the illicit affair in his bedroom as a slight on him. The master said further that the boy was still under the care of the parents and was not of age to get married.
