The Abam Onyerubi Clan in Arochukwu LGA has staged a grand civic reception in honour of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, which the people used the event to adopt him for a second term in office.

In their speeches at Central school, Ozu Abam, the member, representing Arochukwu/Ohafia in the National Assembly, Hon. Uko Nkole and President General, Abam Development Union, Dr. John Onyeani Egbuta commended the giant strides of the Governor in all parts of the State including Abam, appealed to him to complete the Bende-Idima-Abam road. They thanked the Governor for his support in attracting the Ngwu bridge construction and other achievements.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Professor Kenneth Kalu stressed the need to utilize the economic potentials of Abam clan. He assured the Governor of their support for a second term and thanked the Governor for the completion of the collapse Ndiememe bridge.

Responding, the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu thanked the Abam Onyerubi clan for hosting him and conferring a chieftaincy title of Ikenga of Abam on him.

He assured them that his administration would complete all the projects he embarked upon within his tenure, maintaining that he would soon commission the bridge attracted by Hon. Nkole.

The Governor who told the people to form a committee that would come up with a template of developing the clan, said that he must
find a pathway to develop Abam quickly. According to him, the essence of governance is to affect the people positively.
