Stop deceiving yourself. Peter Obi was also a two-term governor and couldn't win a single local govt for his candidate against the sitting governor. We know how these disgruntled godfathers claim street popularity until their yansh are blown open.

My friend, just go and sit down because you obviously do not know Kano politics.

The only reason the CPC governorship candidate did not prevail when Kwankwaso emerged as governor under PDP was because of bitter unresolved in-fighting between the then CPC aspirants right to the last minute of the election, where the emergent flag-bearer, Lawal Jafarar, did not have time to campaign along with anti party activity by his rival, Mohammed Abacha, who unfortunately asked his supporters to vote for Kwankwaso.

However, when it comes to presidential elections, Buhari has NEVER LOST in Kano since he began running for the presidency - and nothing has changed.

Unfortunately, Kwankwaso has badly miscalculated this time around and is destined to waste his (admittedly significant) local support base in Kano for nothing - he had all the making to be the next heir apparent to succeed Buhari in the north had he been patient enough to shelf his presidential ambition until after this president and subsequently when the presidency is zoned back to the north; unfortunately, like Tambuwal he chose to gamble everything away through his impatience.

Buhari is not the master of politics in northern Nigeria, He's the master of northern politics wen the candidate against him is a southerner.

why would the people ever vote for Kwankwaso, when PMB has helped 6600 in 44 local government with funds to amp their business. Kwankwaso cannot disparage the fact that PMB has already gained the love of Kano people following the Money Transfer Initiative and the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme that the helped to reduce the level of poverty in the state as well as help the businesses of the people. where will Kwankwaso begin to contend this, just impossible
