The Ekiti State Police Command on Tuesday, arrested the mentally challenged man, who stabbed to death a traditional ruler, Oba Gbadebo Ogunsakin of Odo Oro Ekiti, in Ikole Local Government Area on Monday.

Spokesperson for the Command, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu, who confirmed the development, said the suspect identified as Omoniyi Stephen was arrested around 4.30 pm on Monday around Ajao Market in Ado-Ekiti.

“I can confirm to you that the suspect has been arrested. He has confessed to the act and our investigation continues. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for more investigation.” he said
