***BEWARE OF THE MENACE OF RAPIST ***

The issue of “rape” or “sexual assault especially against women seemed so rampant and it is very heartbreaking and terrible.The initiators and perpetrators of the incestuous act of rape are known as “RAPIST”. A rapist may be a man or woman.

Typically, most rapists appears as normal seeming men/women, school teachers/lectures, neighbors, co-workers/colleagues in the office, church leaders (pastors, priest, reverend fathers, prophets and prophetess etc) close friends and even family members. They often have wife/girlfriend, husband/boyfriend, which makes them appear responsible and blend into their communities. Rapists force their victims to engage in sex against their wishes. The main objective behind this dehumanizing act is to gain control and power over their victim. Most rapists feel they have to be in control of their relationship with their victims in every area of the victim’s life (conversation, family, marriage, carrier, ministry etc). Hence, they deprives their victim their confidence, value and self worth.

A former rapist confessed on how he and his gang meticulously plan their attack on vulnerable woman that happened to be their targeted victims. He said they would first try to gain the trust of their victim by appearing friendly. They would then proceed to ask the ignorant victim to go somewhere with them where they could be alone. In some cases, if the victim lives in another distant place, they would persuade her or make provision for her to relocate to a preferred closer resident.
This will help them to track the movement and activities of their targeted victim, memorizing the woman’s goings and comings, so that they know when she is alone and what time she is around her apartment before they strike. Such processes would offer an easier break-in and subsequent getaway or escape route for them. In most cases, their violated victims were forced to keep quiet or lost their lives if they say anything about the heinous act.

The sexual assaults of rapist are physically harmful and their intent is clearly to degrade and humiliate their victims. If the victim happened to be a holy and godly child of God who they are angry at, their intent is to drive the Holy Spirit away from her, while dishonoring her body, dignity and reputations. The Scripture said in the Book of PROVERB 20:17, “BREAD OF DECEIT IS SWEET TO A MAN, BUT AFTERWARD HIS MOUTH SHALL BE FILLED WITH GRAVEL”. Everyday is for the thief, but one day is for the owner of the house!

It is worth noting that if a woman feels any sort of threat, set-up or conspiracy going on against her, she has better chances to take precautionary and preventive measures in order to protect herself from the menace of rapist by:
• Always being at alert and aware of happening around her surroundings
• Being careful of whom she trust and relate her activities to,
• Who she share apartment with
• Who she follows and where she goes
• If possible, set up any tracking gadgets that captures and documents unusual advances from a suspect
• Be able to shout/call for help quickly
• Report suspect to appropriate securities.
When you are at alert, you would appear more empowered and less like a woman for rapist target…SHALOM!!!
