Real Madrid is still working on a marquee signing to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and believes they have a chance to sign Kylian Mbappe before the window closes, reportedly. The Spanish giants have made the surprising decision to accept an £ 88m offer for Ronaldo £ 88m earlier this summer, but not to replace it on the transfer market - with Gareth Bale at the start of the season.
But the Spanish newspaper Marca reports that Madrid is preparing a move for Mbappe if PSG violates Financial Fair Play.
The French side has until Monday to exercise the 160 million pounds purchase option in Mbappes contract after it was originally borrowed from Monaco. UEFA must resolve PSG's FFP situation by 30 August, and if they break the rules, they may not be able to sign Mbappe - or be forced to sell it, as soon as they potentially trigger their call option at a profit.
Real President Florentino Perez is already ready to switch for Mbappe, should that be the case, although Madrid could only have 24 hours to complete a record for the club. Thibaut Courtois is the biggest new signing that Real has made this summer, while she has also recruited Alvaro Odriozola and Vinicius Junior in big bucks.
But Mbappe is the player Perez really wants, and the club believes he could lead his attack for the next decade. The Frenchman, who was voted best young player at the World Cup, has already scored two goals for PSG in Ligue 1 this season, while scoring 13 goals and scoring eight assists in just 24 starts last year.
