The NNPC's major project for the last 3 years and 3 months has been an alleged PPP power plant for Abuja, Kano, and Kaduna with combined capacity of 4600MW. This project goes along with a pipeline running through the ND to Abuja and then extending from Abuja to Kaduna and Finally Kano.
Here is a link NNPC website about this huge power project:

With a functional ministry of power headed by Fashola in place, is NNPC suppose to be involved in the construction of power plants ?

Why is no one asking questions about this injustice being presented in form development to those close to abundant gas supply?

I like to hear from Nairalanders.

What is the primary purpose of power ministry if not to oversee power plant construction?

NNPC is an energy company. Power generation is part of their business since it's considered an energy business

They thought they have built enough power for the north that is why they brilliantly removed power from the exclusive list

So that its not about state generating power and feeding it to the national grid again

But karma is coming soonπŸ˜€

No issues with it at all if it is executed in a transparent manner. The biggest problem with the NNPC's operations in Nigeria is the fact that they are the sole importers of petroleum products into the country, as if it's an exclusive preserve. Marketers buy from them amidst all the charges and then sell to retail filling stations. The best thing to do would be to allow independent importers do that to encourage price competition, but no. That can't happen with NNPCL being the sole shareholder in that sector. It's insane.
