Looking forward to getting my first car and narrowed my options between these 2 cars but don't know which one to go for.

1. Pontiac vibe 2009/2010
2. Lexus Es 330/300

I love the pontiac vibe more but got to know it uses the same 2az-fe engine as Camry 07-09 that burns oil.
Secondly i heard the car parts is very difficult to come by.

I like honda evil spirit too(2008) but i heard they are plauged with leg issues.

Car gurus in the house kindly help me choose either of these 2 cars to go for as a first time car owner.

pick the lexus,its a better car than the Pontiac in all ramifications.but take note.the evil spirit is not plagued by leg issues.proper checking and maintainance is the key.honda needs more pampering on the front wheels,but it's a better car than the lexus es330.but just stick with the 330 as a first timer.if na me I prefer the evil spirit.

Pontiac vibe has 2zr engine. The GT trim with AWD was fitted with 2az. But better to buy matrix because of cost of body parts, buy base models.

Buy ES if fuel economy isnt a major concern

Both are suitable and no much difference in terms of reliability.

Corolla nah robber and vandals magnet. The civic a bit old but would be cheaper in overall maintenance

There are 3 types of 06 to 10 civic, Asian, International and Europe versions.

For model years no difference 2006 Asian civic is same as 2008, 2009 and 2010 Asian civic. Nah year of manufacture different.

For the trim their or slight differences in accessories like radio, Nav, engine, leather seat, manual/auto window etc.

DX is basic trim
LX is above basic
EX is small luxury join
EX-L is the highest luxury

There are some limited production trims too that always have different engine from the other trims like Civic Si and type R.

Asian comes into naija as brand new units

American/international comes as tokunbo

Europe comes as tokunbo too, very rare most civic used by Sahara oil is Europe type.

Most of the parts are interchangeable shocks, springs some engine and transmission.

both are very good and reliable rides,Camry comes in both the V6 version and 4cylinder version,Lexus comes only with V6 version, so if you are looking into trading power for fuel efficiency then you can pick the 2004 Camry 4 cylinder, but if you are more of power, then the V6 Camry or the Lexus will be good to go.

personally I will pick the Lexus, but Camry demand is more than the Lexus, mostly or partly due to uber,bolt etc,so when putting it up for sale expect the Camry to sell faster,but like I've said personally I prefer the Lexus to that model Camry (aka big for nothing).

If you’re yet to buy the Rim just go for 215/65/R16. That’s what I have in my 06 Camry and no complain whatsoever.
