Of course.

But we the youths are too busy watching epl, following bobrisky and bring engrossed with Twitter savages. Like it or not, buhari isn't responsible for 10% of our problems. Same with any other presidents in the past.

The real harbingers of our woes are the nepa officials, the district police officers, the corrupt principals, the commissioners, the baales, the Federal government officials and millions of other greedy, selfish bastard that control different sectors and aspects of our daily lives.
What more can the youths do with the system the govt has in place. We are talking about economic growth here. If the nation has things available the youths will delve into it. Right now everything is saturated

Hmmm, manufacturing is truly very important in growth of economy but Most of our youths are going to school to apply for job vacancies.

New companies must be built to empower job seekers. We will take the lead?

Very inspiring. In Nigeria most times it's not about the value that you are bringing; there is a prevalence of nepotism and corruption in the system of employment , granting of loan to startups and awarding of contracts without remorse but the reality is that "time will surely tell".
Re: Manufacturing Key To Economic Growth, Devt – Dangote by Nobody: 8:16am On Aug 28, 2018
He is right, a whole city can't even boost of a manufacturing company, it's sad, when we manufacture goods, it will reduce much dependence on imported goods and increase our GDP and cause balance of payment surplus.

Dangote is very right about this. He is not just saying this for saying sake, but this is what he practises. Most of his investments are in Nigeria.

Director of the Dangote Group, Hajiya Halima Aliko-Dangote has urged millennials in Nigeria and across Africa to diversify from service-oriented enterprises to manufacturing and agriculture in a bid to fast-track the development of the continent.

Halima Dangote said that economic realities around the world had shown that the way to go is agriculture, and that the youths must take the lead more as most African countries are still grappling with low economic growth. Addressing the 58th Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Abuja, yesterday, Hajiya Halima Dangote said African countries have groped in the dark for too long and it is high time the millennials stood up to be counted as the future of the continent. In her paper titled: “Roles of Millennials in Transition and Institution Building,” the Dangote Group director explained that the youths have the potentials to turn around the fortunes of the African continent. She stated that “Millennials are young ones born between 1980 and the mid-2000s, who account for 27 per cent of the global population (about two billion people) and Sub-Saharan Africa alone is home to 13 per cent of the entire millennial population, ranking second to Asia. According to her, “available statistics have also revealed that by 2025, 75 per cent of the global workforce will be millennials, large enough to influence consumer spending patterns; change consumer business models and impact the global economy. Most members of this generation are at the beginning of their careers and so will be an important engine for economic growth in the decades to come.” Amid intermittent applause from the lawyers, Hajiya Halima Dangote stated that the theme of the conference which is “Transition, Transformation, and Sustainable Institutions” could not have come at a better time than now and therefore lauded the NBA for coming up with a subject that Nigeria and Africa needed to discuss. She congratulated the outgoing President of the NBA, Mr. A. B. Mahmoud OON, the incoming President, Mr. Paul Usoro SAN, and “all my learned friends here for successfully continuing with the vision handed down by the fathers and founders of the Association.” The Executive Director also urged millennials and other relevant stakeholders to exercise restraint in the face of desperation for wealth by their contemporaries adding that, “success in entrepreneurship takes time, dedication and hard work. There is a need to disabuse our mind from the concept of overnight success. Industrialisation requires patience and perseverance.” She also spoke extensively on the successes recorded by the Dangote Group, founded by her father Aliko Dangote, in creating numerous jobs and establishing value-adding industries and contemporary businesses through importation, manufacturing and backward integration to generate and highlight local content for overall development. While noting that the achievement by the group did not come easy, Hajiya Halima Dangote said “the Millennials should see these opportunities and diversify from service-oriented enterprises to manufacturing enterprises. Manufacturing has the capacity to create numerous jobs, develop an economy, sustain jobs and open other linkages.” “The Nigerian and African Millennials in this context although largely preoccupied with start-ups, business activities and professional success are also intensely politically and socially active through the social media”, Hajiya Halima Dangote added.

Dangote got an unprecedented head start wen he connived with OBJ to illegally make him the sole importer of cement in a nation of over 150 million, thereby revoking licenses of all other importers of cement in Nigeria notably ibeto. They didn't just stop ibeto from importing, they waited for his imported cement worth billions of naira to touch down in Nigeria before they revoked his license n seized his cement n kept it until it got destroyed.

Ibeto fell to stroke n nearly lost his life. Thank God for liberal people like Yaradua who came to power n quickly reversed the devilish law n gave back everyone license to import cement notably again,Ibeto. It helped him recover a bit until 2012 wen GEJ allotted an oil well to him, He has been fully compensated.

Same goes with sugar, for a very long time only dangote imported sugar into Nigeria n made gazillion profits from that.

Salt is very easy to produce, even a daft dullardic fossil from daura can run that one.

Dangote started the Tim tomato business, a real business where he had to compete with others, in less than 12 months he got bankrupt.

Same with his indomie, it crashed as well.

Dangote cannot compete with anyone simply because he does not have the brains to do so. U don't wonder why dangote as a Billionaire has no investment in Europe Asia or America? Go Figure.

you have started again with this your talk grin grin

I used to think like you any ways so I'm not surprised
Until I did sone searching myself, and found facts

There was NEVER a time in Nigeria that dangote was the sole importer of sugar.

However, he was the FIRST to build a sugar refining plant in Nigeria, in the late 90s and on building that plant for tens of millions of dollars, it's only logical that the govt protect the local guy from competition from outside

I don't remember any Igbo man building a sugar plant in Nigeria

About cement, it's the local content / backward integration policy of obj that revoked ALL importation licences of importers of cement

Ibeto was caught off guard because he was not ready

Damgote and BUA have already built their plants up PRIOR To the ban

Did ibeti collect licencing right to produce cement locally and he was refused? the answer is NO

Ibeto was stubborn and his legs were broken
I will not say because he is my kinsman I would support him blindly, like my uncles do.
your licence has been revoked and you still brought cement in?

does he not know it's a free pass for the govt to seize his goods?

Dangote and others were given licences to build refineries

Only him has taken tge bull by the horn

Tomorrow when he succeeds, eastern folks will cry foul

Ifeanyi uba got a licence, what is he doing with it?

Dangote has my respect any time anyday, because he has employed tens of thousands of people on my continent, he is adding value and does not go buying property abroad with reckless abandon like other elite like him.
Thats why I keep buying stakes in his companies; D
And he keepsgiving good returns year on yr cheesy

Do research abour dangote witt an open mind, not bias.that was planted in us, You will see thing's clearer
