Michael Jackson was born on this date in 1958, and his fans who have been inspired by the late King of Pop took to their twitter page to remember him nine years after his death.

Users of the social media platform have come to celebrate the music icon as he would have marked his 60th birthday today, Wednesday, August 29.

Recall that Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, of a drug overdose after suffering a cardiac arrest.

18-YEAR-OLD CRUSHED TO DEATH AFTER REGISTERING FOR PVC
It was a tragic moment in Kaduna yesterday when an 18-year-old girl, Regina Solomon, who went for the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voters Card (PVC) registration, was crushed to death by a truck.

An eyewitness said the victim was standing by the roadside waiting for a commercial bus when the truck ran into her. The victim was going home from Kujama, in Chikun local government area of Kaduna.

A family source, Grace Ojo, who spoke to journalists in tears, said the deceased is the first child of a family of five. She lamented that the victim defied all counsel and went to the PVC registration centre against her mother’s advise, because of the 2018/2019 admission she secured at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria to read pharmacy.

NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS DIES FROM COMPLICATIONS AFTER FALLING IN BATHROOM
Nollywood actress, Uduak Akrah has reportedly passed away.

According to reports, the actress passed away due to complications suffered after slipping from the bathroom two years ago.

Confirming the new, popular filmmaker Charles Novia took to his social media page with a caption stating she died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on Saturday.

RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN SOFTENS PENSION REFORMS AFTER OUTCRY
Russian leader Vladimir Putin has softened planned pension changes following angry protests and a slump in his approval rating.

He said the retirement age for women would be increased from 55 to 60 instead of to 63. But a five-year increase for men, to 65, would stay.

In a rare TV address, Mr Putin said the country’s working-age population was shrinking, making change essential.

Unions have warned that many will not live long enough to claim a pension.
