The Rivers state police command have confirmed the death of two policemen and a driver during a gun battle with suspected kidnappers, on Wednesday, along the Woji Alcon road.

The police public relation officer, Nnamdi Omoni, said the incident happened between the hours of 9-10pm near Welcome U mall, while trying to kidnap an expatriate who works with Total.

The foreigner was later abducted by the bandits. Eyewitness account said the kidnappers ambushed the convoy, shot and killed the policemen and the driver before whisking away their target.

Too many guns in the hands of unauthorized users,especially the youths in Rivers State.
Since the opening of Woji/Akpajo road the crime rate in that axis have increased astronomically.

Wike should adopt the model Rotimi Amaechi used to fight crime and tame these criminals by equipping the Rivers State police command and the C4i special police unit.

Hmmm...if this is different from the one reported last week, I wonder what's going on in Rivers and how Wike has lost control.

Woji ALCON Road has witnessed a sudden wave of violent crime, armed robbery of supermarkets along that axis. Last month, the dare devil robbers were shooting and calling on the police to come out for gun exchange, Woji police, hid behind the plaza.
