In recent times, very large material losses and in some cases loss of lives have been caused by fire in office buildings, homes, factories and markets. Worse still, is it the fact that the incident and cost of such fires have been rapidly increasing. It has therefore become neccessary for safety of live and property that everyone put first-aid fire fighting in place so that a fire emergency can be controlled before fire fighters get to the scene of fire.
What are the things you have to put in place;

SMOKE ALARMS
If smoke alarms are not already in place, install them outside or inside areas that will be occupied. And if it is a home that people sleep with doors closed, install smoke alarms in sleeping areas too. If a fire occurs inside the room, dangerous gasses can cause heavier sleep. Smoke alarm is likely to wake you. Smoke kill faster than the fire itself.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Consider having one or more working fire extinguishers in your home or offices. Please get your fire extinguishers from certified dealers.

TRAINING
It is also very important that you get training on how to use fire extinguishers. Nothing can be more disastrous than a wrong application of fire extinguishers. You can also contact us for training by officers from the Federal Fire Service.

Fire blankets are made of fire resistant materials. They are used for cooking pan fires and can be wrapped round a person who is burning.
