Good governance involves, inter alia, transparency and prudence in public finance. It involves social justice, investing in the poor, and jobs for young people; which explains our School Feeding Programme, providing a meal a day to over 9 million public school children in 25 States as of today. Our NPower is now employing 500,000 graduates; our TraderMoni that will be giving microcredit to 2 million petty traders; our Conditional Cash Transfers giving monthly grants to over 400,000 of the poorest in Nigeria. The plan is to cover a million households. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- those ones up there, are they real ? |

jayson87:Yes he stole enough when he was a customs officers at murtala airport, aka Alhaja Ghana must go... He then continued the stealing by using El-Rufai as the DG privatization to steal national treasures. Atiku is a petty criminal, he should not just be in jail but a 4th world jail somewhere - he is an example of African greed and abject corruption. 1 Like 1 Share |

We know that all you stood for as Attorney General have now collapsed under the weight of political correctness, expediency and conformity so all you accuse Atiku of doing and denying in the past is exactly what you are doing and denying now, that is. So both of you are just unprincipled opportunists. So by inference none of you will bring the much expected change. This does not surprise me because no politician in the world will ever fulfil any promises except he or she is compelled to by threat of removal at the polls. Unfortunately it is you Mr. Veep that is in power and has more to lose and if the electorate was just a wee bit sensible as againat being totally sentimental you will not be so confident to say such sad things. You are just unprincipled Mister. |

95% of the lazy youths on nairaland are too gullible to comprehend the eminent lawyer, Prof. Osinbajo's arguments. Their reasoning faculty is compromised. It's unfortunate! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

"good governance, honest management of public resources, deeper fiscal Federalism, and a clear vision for development". These above all else is what we need for the growth of this nation because without them, the aim of restructuring will still fail. Restructuring a country under the governance of greedy men and poor management under the lack of common sense of how to use the resources properly will only drive this nation further into a realm of debt, poverty, hunger and eventually a collapse of the nation entirely. I stand with Osinbajo, it's not all about restructuring 1 Like 1 Share |

To be honest, from a realistic point of view, the solution to all Nigeria problem is penned down in the reply. Judging critically by fact on ground, restructuring is the way out. Nigeria was profitable in the regional days, it will only get better now. Judging from the comments as well, it is worrisome, the youth don't show allegiance to betterment of this nation. I commend the V. P, from the post, he has shown that his experience during AGF of Lagos was not a waste. 1 Like 1 Share |

I showed the OPEC figures from oil revenues since 1990. In four years from 2010 to 2014 the PDP government earned the highest oil revenues in Nigeria’s history, USD381.9billion. By contrast the Buhari Administration has earned USD121 billion from May 2015 to June 2018, less than 1/3 of what Jonathan Administration earned at the same period in that administration’s life. Despite earning so much less, we are still able to invest more in infrastructure than any government in Nigeria’s history. The difference is good governance, and fiscal prudence. With all that money, the useless, looting and stealing clowns did not complete a single project. They left thousands of abandoned and still no stable electricity. Thank God Nigerians kicked them out 1 Like 1 Share |

TheAlchemist: Let's start the process first The problem is that the south is not united With Fulani marauders killings, winning over North Central won't be much of a challenge Atiku is not realistic with his plan for restructuring Restructuring without resource control is vague |

I went through the comments after this story, it's clear that majority didn't finish reading the story or understand the context of what our erudite VP is saying. All they can offer is childish verbal abuse. It saddens me that this generation of young Nigerians have willfully kept themselves uninformed and largely ignorant. 1 Like 1 Share |

Surprisingly, Alhaji Atiku leaves out the elephant in the room – corruption. And how grand corruption, fueled by a rentier economic structure that benefits those who can use political positions or access to either loot the treasury or get favorable concessions to enrich themselves. This was a main part of my presentations the Minnesota Town Hall meeting. Atiku as a grand beneficiary of such concessions swindled and denied Nigeria millions of dollars for so many years. ...sadly, Atiku's response was corruption fighting back. Just imagine crooks and unpatriotic elements like Atiku trying to take control of the Nigerian treasury. |

How I love my Vice President! lolz.... He just took the hammer straight to the point and nailed it right there. "In the final analysis, restructuring in whatever shape or form, will not mean much if our political leaders see public resources as an extension of their bank accounts". This is exactly it, these other politicians are saying and doing all they are doing about restructuring just for their pocket pleasure. Thanks to this government that his come forth to stop the decadence which the Atiku and the entire PDP government brought upon Nigeria. 1 Like 1 Share |
