Truth is, Buhari's government has suppressed local media houses. They are trying to cover up. Why is it that most of the Boko Haram reports we hear are from foreign outlets? What will those foreign media outlets gain by publishing false news about Nigeria.

The government knows that if we don't hear the truth, they are safe but their game will catch up with them.

Exactly it is in the foreign news weekly yet not in local news

Pre to 2015 Boko haram were at their peak.
All of a sudden they went down without resistance. No arrest, no conviction. No detailed info about them.
The least we hear was they have repeat. (After killing thousands of innocent people)

Don't get it twisted.

Fulani herdsmen killers are Boko-haram sister.

They are the ones that received upgrade.

They are still very active

Every week there's a new report in the foreign.oress yet nothing in our local news. Have you forgotten there are alot of foreign.aid workers in the north assisting refugeess?

Forget these lists nothing has reduced

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, on Tuesday restated that the Boko Haram terrorists had been “highly degraded” and that there was no resurgence of insurgency in the North-East as being insinuated in some quarters.

Buratai, who spoke in Jaji at the graduation of 55 Special Forces from “Advance Water Markship Training”, however, said: “in warfare, one must suffer some setbacks”.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in the last few days, there have been media reports of terrorists’ attacks on troops in the North-East in which they claimed a number of soldiers had been killed.

The army, however, denied the attack and loss of personnel.

Buratai was in Jaji in company of the visiting South African Army Chief, Lt.-Gen. Lindile Yam.

“You are all aware of the events in the country, especially the security landscape between 2013 and mid-2015.

“I am referring to the situation in the North-East where a band of insurgents, employing terror held sway over nearly the entire region, including large part of the North-Central and Northwestern parts of the country.

“However, from middle of 2015 to date, the insurgents have suffered high degradation. They no longer hold any territory within our sovereign state,” Buratai said.

He said that this was made possible by the adoption of correct strategies, support by President Muhammadu Buhari and the goodwill of the people.

According to him, a professional army should be capable of operating under all conditions across all terrains and by day or night.

He said : “The nature of modern warfare requires that an army must develop multi capability to address all changes.’’

Buratai commended the graduating Special Forces drawn from various corps of the army for the completion of the training.

The army chief promoted all the 55 personnel that participated in the training, saying it was his reward for them, having endured the rigours of the exercise.

He said the focus on effective training in the last years also largely accounted for the successes so far recorded by the army.

“It is pertinent to state that lessons learned from our counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations have to a large extent, guided our training and operation plans,” he said.

The South African army chief, having watched a simulation attack on supposed enemy camp by the graduands, commended the Nigerian military for the relations among the three services.

Yam noted that the strategies adopted by the Nigerian military in addressing the country’s security challenges were yielding positive results.

He also praised Nigerians for their resilience and being able to adapt to situations wherever they found themselves.

One of the lessons Nigeria should take from this upsurge in terrorist attacks and successes is never again to negotiate with ISWAP/Bokoharam with the release of terrorists on the table. We must consider that the recent past release of Bokoharam commanders has contributed to the loses of men we have suffered and are experiencing. In addition, we have to take a no money for hostages position.

Every deal we make with terrorist that does not demand thire unconditional surrender imperils our soldiers. Nigeria should also not trust thire French backed Niger, Chad , Cameroon partners. If we must work with them , let's keep our wits about us and forget the African brotherlyness obsession of ours. Watch them keenly.

A heart seared with hot iron, a lying tongue and the eyes that runs to and fro he has given them, so in earing they will not hear.

This is the curse of our ruling elite.

We must insist on the truth all the time, it is obvious the same lies he sells to the person who appoints him, is the same lie he is reporting but news report for the whole of this year reveals the opposite.

There may be some truth to this. The number of Boko Haram attacks have seen considerable decreases in the past to two years, but I thinks its best if these guys just keep quiet and get the job done.
you're wrong on this. the only thing that has decreased is media reportage of boko haram activities.
