In a saner country, the IGP would have either voluntarily resigned or been cashiered by now. Apology their kpekus! The entire police force needs an URGENT reform and not just SARS! The reform must start with the sack of the incompetent IGP. 1 Like |

Seriously I do not understand the reasoning of people, especially ipob touts. Why are they talking about cover up? Cover up by police or cover up by Buhari? What is the cover up? Is it that if the police get some intelligence that Clark was keeping weapons in his home, they have no right to raid? Turns out they were given false info. Is it their fault? If they wanted to frame up Clark they could very easily have planted weapons and other incriminating materials in his home during the raid. So what is the cover up they are talking about? Senseless people. |

blackboy:so what was the motive of the police if they weren't really given a tip off. if they wanted to frame up Clark why didn't they plant weapons at his home? use your sense. false information happens everywhere. in other countries. the police just apologize and move on. they don't turn it into politics. if the police is afraid to act on a tip off, whether false or credible, they would never get the job done! |

The law is clear on this sort of thing, he would have to provide some sort of "evidence" that he informed the police based on correct information... "hear say" would not suffice when it gets to court. If the prosecution can prove he acted maliciously and gave the police false information to either rubbish Nigeria Police or Edwin Clark, he would get jail time. Minjim: |

Re: The Informant Who Gave 'False' Information On Edwin Clark’s House Raid by DonCandido(f): 5:47pm On Sep 05, 2018 |
Minjim: No. This is not a case of false Intel which I hasten to concede happens in all countries without exemption. It is properly a case of an administrative failure. It was caused by non existence of a competent administrator to reinforce the chains of command and diligently enforce the laid down procedures of the Nigeria Police Force. How can a citizen supply a supposedly actionable Intel and 4 policemen again, "supposedly " acting on their own, obtained a search warrant from a court and used police resources and time to conduct an illegal search of premises. Did these policemen sign the movement register at their station? Did they sign the requisition documents to access their weapons from the station's armourer? Did they sign any requisition form for the police vehicle and other police resources used? Did they report the Intel through the proper channels for authorisation? Would an intelligent and well trained policeman not conduct surveillance of the premises first assuming they are motivated by quest for promotion? Is the person saddled with overseeing and ensuring that our police force do their jobs properly not the IGP? Would one not be correct to characterize him as incompetent? Would requests for his sack not be in the interest of the country and the police? |
