Wednesday, the 5th of September 2018 was a day that will remain indelible in the minds of the female students community of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU). This, as the Akwa Ibom State University Women Association (AKSUWA) in collaboration with Akwa Ibom Female Students Association (AIFSA) put together a one-day Potential Women Leadership summit.

The event, which was held under the theme “nurturing leadership among young women for a better society”, saw a large turnout of students of Akwa Ibom State University who converged at the prestigious Pinnacle theatre of the varsity for the life changing experience.

In her opening remarks, Prof. Veronica Umoh (Dean Faculty of Natural and Applied Science AKSU) charged the female students to cultivate a positive mental approach to solving present-day challenges and reminded them that women have all that it takes to aspire to the greatest positions in life. She further reminded them that the society has a very high level of expectation from women and that they should brace themselves with adequate knowledge in other to meet and surpass those expectations.
