2018 Anambra Trade Fair To Hold In November by Frankdotcom: 2:41pm On Sep 08, 2018
The Association of Anambra Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, (AACCIMA) has set out mordalities for one of the biggest fairs in Nigeria - The 2018 Anambra Trade Fair in Awka the capital city of the state.


Addressing newsmen at a press conference it organized recently, the Chairman, 2018 Trade Fair Organizing Committee, Chris Ukachukwu revealed that the exposition organized by the three city chambers of Onitsha, Nnewi, and Awka Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture is scheduled to commence from 26th November to 11th December, 2018, at the popular Chuba Ikpeazu Sports Stadium, along Awka Road, Onitsha.


Sir Ukachukwu stated that with the theme: "Promoting Economic Development through Manufacturing, Trade and Agriculture", the Trade Fair primes on Agriculture and the Real Sector as core drives of Economic Development while leveraging on the channel of Commerce for widespread patronage.


He asserted that the exposition will directly and indirectly create jobs, new opportunity and intense competitive environment that will lead to excellence in product and service delivery as it attracts local and foreign investors, trade groups, manufacturers, multinationals, financial institutions, entrepreneurs, SMEs to showcase and sell their goods and services at an affordable price to consumers.


Reacting to questions from the press about the plans for what seems to be the biggest commercial event in the South East in 2018, the Organizing Committee avowed high level security is guaranteed as Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) shall be installed to monitor the activities of the visitors at the ground and beyond, other confidential security measures, high quality fire-fighting equipment will be standby and adequate medical facilities to respond swiftly to any medical attention as well as the wonderful support of the Anambra State government.


Mr. Chinedu Nwonu, Chairman Marketing Committee revealed a Special Pricing Programme for the SMEs and small scale enterprises at the exposition.


In his address, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Mechanization, Processing and Export, Hon. Afam Mbanefo commended the effort of the three city Chambers and the organizing committee of the Trade Fair towards making the exposition successful, pledging the support of the State Ministry of Agriculture and the State Government towards its success.


The Honorable Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, Market and Wealth Creation duly represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry in the state Elder Daniel Okoli, threw in their support which have been unalloyed ever since and the inception of the Commercial Fair 2016, stating that plans are underway to establish a permanent Trade fair centre for such huge annual event.


The Honourable Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artwork,Culture and Tourism, Barr. (Mrs.) Sally Mbanefo highlighted the importance of incorporating digitalization into trading and the trade fair, describing that as the only way of reaching out to those in the diaspora and involving them in local trading for the entire development of the state’s economic value.


The conference attracted commercial big names in the State and South-East region among whom are the CEO of NGOBROS and Company Nig. Ltd., and chairman of the occasion, Sir, Humphrey Ngonadi, The various Presidents of City Chambers (past and present), The MD/CEO Anambra State Small Business Agency, Mr. Clement Chukwuka, The Chairman Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), South-East, members of the city Chambers of Commerce in the state, the press and host of other dignitaries.
