fortis mobile money has been adjudged the most innovative mobile money of the year at the 2018 Titans of Technology Awards in Lagos at the weekend.

The high octane awards organised by premiere ICT consultancy company, Technology Africa noted that fortis mobile money has excelled in the deployment of innovative technologies to create products and services that is today helping to move Nigeria forward. With over 2000 agents strategically spread through the rural and peri-urban committees and in partnership with their sister bank, fortis mobile Money have delivered full financial services that includes savings, credit, insurance, bill payment among others.

The company’s competencies in rural agency banking and mobile microfinance have exposed his organisation to partnership with the federal government, state governments, local governments, non governmental organisations among others.

Receiving the award from Chris Uwaje, a former president of Information Technology Association of Nigeria and Institute of Software practitioners of Nigeria, Pius Tochukwu Okwanya, Manager, e-Payment and Innovation, fortis mobile Money said, “We are deeply honoured to be recognized and appreciated for our modest contribution in driving innovative digital payment and financial inclusion in Nigeria” He congratulated the organisers of the event saying that the award means more work and more commitment to the development of the financial space in Nigeria.
