The funny thing about Nigeria is that people are only agitated when things affect their people.
During obj time, thousands of Igbo where always being massacred in the north, bakkasi boys extra judicially killed thousands of Igbo, Opc did the same in Yorubaland- no one did anything to stop them. The north remained quiet. Yaradua came in and Boko Haram expanded under him.
At the initial stage of Boko Haram, they burnt churches and killed Christians- northerners remained quiet and their elders even said that an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north. Now Boko Haram have matured into a terrorist group which kills everyone indiscriminately and northern leaders are shouting.
The solution would have been to nip it in the bud.
