Some Notable, Captivating Facts About Higher Institution. by Nobody: 7:07am On Sep 15, 2018
I am moved to write this piece having the younger ones at heart with hope of seeing all do well in life, especially at this period when many people are going out of schools (graduates), preparing to return to campuses (regulars), planning to enter (aspirants) and others such as those on one-year national assignment (Corpers), part-time students and the likes...endless lists but little or no job opportunities to complement the teeming population of yearly graduates.

University is another world on its own...

Its campuses filled with many things that did not even exist in the imaginations of our forefathers...

Muslims becomes Christians and vice versa.

Devoted Christians turn cultists and cultists turn Christians.

Virgins went back spoiled and spoiled go home virgins.

Being exposed to a sample of the real life, one decides whether to utilize the golden opportunity to be successful in life or not based on a simple word called CHOICE.

A long road with many destinations that takes 4-6 years to be completed even if within the shortest possible time. Time flies!!!

The higher one goes, the tougher or harder the system becomes but if he/she is so determined, then there's possibility to subdue the seemingly insurmountable.

Classrooms with long desks/ benches that one has to manage sit on them looking up to intelligent and dull lecturers...

Where no excuse is allowed! If you complain, are you the only one involved? Just be yourself and focused!

Students are alway loyal, gentle and careful until they've passed their courses and move to another levels.

Lecturers frowned at you in the class but readily smile and shake hands with you, even share beer with you outside the classrooms.

Long list of 75% attendance that were meant for the institution's employees but out of social sentiments, they forced the students to be bounded by its unkind policies.

There's need to keep ears to ground for valuable information.

I too know, doesn't work out here because your nearest neighbor or coursemate could have a very useful material, but if you're too self-centered and arrogant, you may be denied access to it.

Campus wifes and husbands equally exist to one's own risk.

But normal, careful friendship or relationship may be of much help as no one is an island.

It's just a normal high school with improvement standards, as such, there's no need for new students to panic.

Credit loads so long that sometimes one may find some courses interesting and others irritating, but one needs to focus on all for him/her to be awarded a certificate in character and in learning.

So much stress, so much struggle...with a popular slogan "Aluta continua, Victoria ascerta".

All in the name of acquiring just a paper that does not even guarantee immediate employment.

The Universities award six grades to a course after exams and continuous assessments have been taken into consideration based on the following performance:

     COURSE                    GRADE

If you know it very well -------A
If you know it well---------------B
If you know it----------------------C
If you know-------------------------D
If you----------------------------------E
If-----------------------------------------F

The "if" is always a constant because of varying behaviors, backgrounds and abilities.

The best is to plan one's life while still in school. Don't wait for another 4 or 5 or 6 years after school as some students even surprised me to say "school first, that they'll plan their lives after school".

Learn a skill, be useful to yourself and the society.

Make ways for yourself and use that as a stepping stone for others.

Shun violence! Live humbly and responsibly!!

Together we can turn things around and as well have a better society.

I wish all well.

Share and add other facts if you like it
