The National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters on Monday said it lacked enough evidence to criminally charge a former governor of Zamfara State, Senator Ahmed Sani, with allegedly marrying an Egyptian minor.

In a statement on Monday, NAPTIP said it had concluded its investigation against Sani, saying that though he may have violated the nation’s child rights laws, it was up to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke (SAN), to file charges against him, the Associated Press reports.

The 49-year-old senator allegedly married the 13-year-old Egyptian daughter of his driver earlier this year after paying a $100,000 bride price.

If we cant get him for this, can EFCC atleast delve more into his financial status and validate the legitimacy of his bride price? Where did the money come from?

Not if Mohammed says "Yes" to statutory r/ap/e. See how Nigeria has used religion to make molestation into a "sophisticated" practice.
