Cristiano Ronaldo must have woken up buzzing with ethusiasm on Wednesday as he was set to make his debut for his new team Juventus in the Champions League. The 33 year old was signed by the Old lady with the hope that his coming would fire them into winning the competition having been halted by him during his Madrid days and spear heading a hattrick of Champions League glory in which he finished as top scorer in all editions from 2013. Ronaldo seemed to have woken up on the wrong side as he was dismissed in a controversial manner just half an hour into his return to Spain to face Valencia.

The Juventus front man began the game well by setting up Samir Khedira only for the German to miss a goal bound chance. However misfortunes befell Ronaldo as he was involved in a tussles with Valencia’s Center Back Jeison Murillo as he appeared to drag his hair before referee Felix Brych consulted his assistant behind the goal before brandishing a straight red card
