7 Ways To Protect Your Skin From Sun Damage by akinzgist(m): 11:16am On Sep 20, 2018
1. HYDRATE YOURSELF
Your body looses a lot of moisture at the time of summer. So it’s important for us to hydrate our body from time to time. You need to drink water to hydrate your body. Water can help your skin remain soft, supple and moisturised (See also: Benefits of Night Time Moisturising). Eating fruits and vegetables will also help keep your digestion system healthy during the time of the summer.
2. STAY OUT OF THE SUN DURING HOTTEST HOURS
Sun rays are very powerful between 11am to 4pm so you should avoid to staying out for a prolonged time during these hours. Stay indoors or at least under a shade. During these hours, your skin, eyes, freckles, and hair when exposed are at risk. You can also wear a hat and shades to protect your face from the sun rays if you need to go out. Mornings and evenings are a good time to go outside and enjoy sun rays.
3. APPLY SUNSCREEN
Sunscreen is a best option to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays. (See also: What is Sunscreen And Why Do You Need It?) Sunscreen will help to nourish your skin with anti-oxidants and different vitamins for a long time. But sunscreen has its own limitations. Try to avoid staying out during the mid day.
4. KEEP YOUR SKIN CLEAN AND FRESH AT ALL TIMES
In summer season, humid weather makes the skin sticky and attract dirt and dust which may lead to skin infection. Oily skin may become a magnet for pimple causing bacteria. Wash your face twice a day with face wash to help to protect your skin from pimples and harmful bacteria.
5. SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES
Lemon is a great fruit with medical benefits. No doubt, this fruit is used to produce many medicines, hair care and skin care products. Lemon is a natural bleaching agent, has antioxidant properties that helps to free radicals and is rich in vitamin C. Taking lemon juice would help your skin glow. You can also make Lemon and Aloe Vera face mask. This face mask helps to inhibit the action of bacteria/virus, protect your skin from pollution and should be used once a week.
6. DON’T CHEAT SLEEP
Summer is a great season for everyone. There are lots of parties and fun activities during the summer season. But lack of sleep can increase the level of stress and other problems, which can affect your skin negatively. It’s also makes you tired and cause acne. Try to get up to seven to eight hours of sleep a day.
7. LET YOUR SKIN BREATHE
Its great to use loads of products and makeup but sometimes you just have to let your skin breathe! Try using a foundation with sunscreen (SPF) if you need to look glam for an outdoor event.
