The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has withdrawn the operating licence of Skye Bank. This was disclosed in a statement to journalists Friday by Umar Ibrahim, chairman of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). No reason was immediately given for the revocation of the licence, but the bank has been beset with liquidity problems over the past year.
